Solid Waste & Municipal Solid Waste Shredding
Solid waste shredding and municipal solid waste (MSW) size reduction requires processing of many different materials, from filled drums to household waste. And, as the amount of solid waste increases and the cost of landfill management increases, it is becoming more critical that waste management become more effective, economic and efficient. Shredded and compacted waste is easier and cheaper to transport and extends the life of the landfill. In addition, separating out materials that can be reclaimed and recycled or that need to be incinerated or composted increases the landfill productivity while providing revenue to offset the costs of processing the solid waste.
Granutech’s Saturn Shredders use powerful blades to process the many materials that comprise solid waste. Constructed of the strongest materials, our blades and rotors are designed to shred the toughest of materials without breakdowns or production slowdowns. Our municipal waste shredders can integrate screens, filters and magnets to separate materials pre or post-processing, providing capture of materials for reclamation or incineration. If additional reductions are required, our Saturn Grizzly grinders can be integrated into the system. Our shredders are manufactured to shred your toughest materials and keep working at peak performance. Filled drums, bales, metals and plastics are no match for our shredders.
Shredder features include:
- Single, dual-shaft, or quad-shaft models are available to meet your application requirements
- Drives from 50HP to 1,250HP (including hybrid-drive option)
- Screens or magnets can be used to separate materials after shredding
- Additionally, Saturn grinder and granulators can be integrated if further sizing is needed
Granutech’s staff is experienced in developing size reduction solutions for solid waste, whether you need a small unit for your processing plant or a large municipal incinerator. We will work with you to design a shredder system that meets your exact requirements.
Saturn Single Shredder
The most durable single-shaft shredder in the industry, only from Granutech-Saturn Systems, the Roto-Grind industrial shredder is ideal and widely used for various industrial applications. The latest technology is used for this Saturn Roto-Grind shredder and many model sizes are offered with horsepower ranging from 20 hp to 400 hp.
Saturn Dual Shredder
For over 40 years, Saturn dual-shaft shredders have been the market choice for recycling industries. These rugged industrial shredders can handle a wide variety of materials and are ideal for challenging applications that require a broad range of product output sizes. Now available with our exclusive, patent pending Hybrid-Drive mechanism, the product is even more flexible and bridges the gap between electrical and hydraulic designs. Our dual-shaft shredders are well-suited to stand alone operation or can be used for pre-shredding for further downstream processing.
Saturn Quad-Shaft Shredder
Granutech-Saturn Systems' designs extend to our unique rugged quad-shaft industrial shredders for applications that require uniform size reduction. Granutech’s quad-shaft Saturn shredders lead the market in performance, durability and reliability in evolving applications. Saturn industrial shredders can work with a broad range of materials and Granutech can also custom-design and configure a shredder that will meet your exact material and output requirements.
Granutech-Saturn’s hammermill products started with the acquisition in 2015 of Magnatech Engineering formerly located in Tonganoxie, Kansas. With a complete line of stationary hammermills in sizes ranging from 36 inch to 72 inch rotor diameter, and hundreds of installations in North America. The Magnatech product line is known for durability and reliability. Granutech-Saturn, with our extensive manufacturing capabilities located in Grand Prairie, Texas, will continue to provide parts and service for existing Magnatech hammermills for years to come.
