Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal Shredding & Recycling

Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal Shredding & Recycling

Non-Ferrous Processing and Separation Application

Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling is a large industry focusing on the recovery of metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and even precious metals from electronic scrap. The applications and needs of non ferrous metal recyclers vary greatly. These can include a large corporate recycler buying UBC bales for shredding to be converted back into beverage cans or a small recycler who is recovering precious metals from circuit boards or catalytic converters.

Whatever your size reduction needs are, Granutech Saturn Systems is proud to offer a non-ferrous scrap metal shredding solution that will meet your needs. Our lineup of nonferrous shredding equipment is the most comprehensive in the business.

Granutech-Saturn’s line-up of scrap metal recycling shredders offers versatility not found with other manufacturers. Our hammermills can shred non ferrous metals of all sizes at rates between 1-30 TPH. Our line of dual shaft shredders and quad shaft shredders can process whole bales and can be used as pre-shredders or final size reduction depending on the way they are equipped. Our MAC® Balers and loggers offer low and high density bale and log options and can be portable or stationary. Last but not least, the Saturn Roto-Grind and other model shredders, and Grizzly grinders, offer excellent sizing of incoming material with a versatile variety of feeding options.

Our line of non-ferrous shredders and hammermills are designed to provide the specific size reduction requirements and functionality that recyclers of non-ferrous scrap need.

  • Drives from 50 to 1250hp
  • Hammermills that can offer high volume size reduction and low fines generation.
  • Dual-shaft models can be used for shredding bales or drums and are very tolerant of tramp metals
  • Quad-shaft models that offer excellent sizing with an integrated sizing screen

Our shredders are commonly equipped with systems to further upgrade the material that has been liberated by the shredding process. These systems can include conveyors, trommels and classifiers, drum magnets, eddy current magnets, and other finder technology.

Product Solutions:

Hammermill

Granutech-Saturn’s hammermill products started with the acquisition in 2015 of Magnatech Engineering formerly located in Tonganoxie, Kansas. With a complete line of stationary hammermills in sizes ranging from 36 inch to 72 inch rotor diameter, and hundreds of installations in North America. The Magnatech product line is known for durability and reliability. Granutech-Saturn, with our extensive manufacturing capabilities located in Grand Prairie, Texas, will continue to provide parts and service for existing Magnatech hammermills for years to come.

MAC 5200 Baler

Developed for high density baling of both ferrous and non-ferrous metal, MAC’s Model 5200 excels in a broad range of materials including loose steel sheet, clips and trim stock. A real workhorse, the Model 5200 features both a shear head compressed ram and side compressed ram, and is capable of producing bales measuring 16-inches square by variable lengths at a rate of 55-60 per hour. Bale densities vary according to material but average 165 lb./cu. ft. for ferrous material and 50-65 lb./cu. ft. for aluminum.

Saturn Dual Shredder

For over 40 years, Saturn dual-shaft shredders have been the market choice for recycling industries. These rugged industrial shredders can handle a wide variety of materials and are ideal for challenging applications that require a broad range of product output sizes. Now available with our exclusive, patent pending Hybrid-Drive mechanism, the product is even more flexible and bridges the gap between electrical and hydraulic designs. Our dual-shaft shredders are well-suited to stand alone operation or can be used for pre-shredding for further downstream processing.

Saturn Quad-Shaft Shredder

Granutech-Saturn Systems' designs extend to our unique rugged quad-shaft industrial shredders for applications that require uniform size reduction. Granutech’s quad-shaft Saturn shredders lead the market in performance, durability and reliability in evolving applications. Saturn industrial shredders can work with a broad range of materials and Granutech can also custom-design and configure a shredder that will meet your exact material and output requirements.

Saturn Grizzly M-80

The Saturn Grizzly M-80 is a size reduction system utilizing a unique staggered knife single rotor design. This durable industrial rubber granulator is easy to maintain and provides incredibly clean rubber and separated steel when processing tires. The Grizzly's unique rotor construction and proprietary blade material allow the greatest size reduction for your materials while minimizing blade cost.

Saturn Grizzly Super 80

The Saturn Grizzly Super 80 by Granutech-Saturn Systems is an industry-leading medium speed grinder that provides efficient, high performance size reduction for processing shredded tires. Granutech’s 40 years of experience designing size reduction equipment means the Saturn Grizzly Super 80 will be around for many years. It uses a state-of-the-art single rotor design and application configurable screens for exact size reduction. By producing smaller, more consistent material, the Saturn Grizzly Super 80 improves the performance of downstream equipment, or can replace it entirely.
